Rescuing, Sheltering and Rehoming Companion Animals in the Columbia Valley of BC since 2007
About ICAN
ICAN is a Registered Non-Profit Animal Rescue with charitable status. We serve Invermere and surrounding districts in the Columbia Valley of BC. All of the workers who attend to the daily needs of the companion animals in our care, every day of every year, are volunteers, except for one part-time administrator.
ICAN is a no-kill, cage-free companion animal shelter. All dogs or puppies who come to ICAN are placed in foster care while awaiting adoption.
Please call ahead for viewings of our Animals which will help provide for their safety and emotional well-being.
The majority of our rescue companion animals are brought to us from within the Columbia Valley, and we work in cooperation with Cranbrook, Creston and Golden animal rescue centers.
We at ICAN believe that the only way the pet overpopulation problem can be addressed is to have all companion animals spayed or neutered. When you adopt from ICAN, you can be secure in the knowledge your animal will not be contributing to the problem of pet overpopulation.
If you have any questions, or concerns, or need help deciding the right time to have your pet altered, please give us a call or an email and we will gladly help you out with your decision. Please do the responsible thing and have your companion spayed or neutered, as young as 5 months of age!
