Sage and Babe

Sage and Babe came to us Nov 11 2012.  A day to remember.  Upon their arrival, they appeared very scared, timid, malnutritioned and showed signs of abuse. They both had problems with their balance and were very, nervous to people and different surroundings. They were also not house trained at 12 and 13 years old! Come feeding time both Sage and Babe were at each others throats for the food, literally. We had to show them that there was plenty of food and love for everybody in our household. Mary had to put out 7 dishes to show them that there was plenty of food (we are now down to 3 dishes) lol. ICAN took Sage went in to have 18 teeth removed as they were all rotten. Both were very timid and not active for about1 1/2 months or so, no one could touch or move without being growled at by either Babe or Sage. Sage was also standoffish, always near a corner of the house and did not want to interact with anybody. But now a days… well, both Babe and Sage are playing and getting along with everybody in our blessed household. No more hiding! Instead, we all go out and play in the front yard, chasing balls, squirrels and each other. Still a bit of growls at bed time, but they both love their bellies rubbed. They both follow either Mary or myself around the house, as if to say,,,”Whatcha ya doing?”

We can honestly say this for ICAN. Our lives have become fully enriched, and are truly thankful for the many happy memories and many more to come, that we now share with our extended family. We are looking forward to keeping in contact with ICAN to assist them as they have assisted us… Again, thank-you for everything ICAN, love Mary and Mickey.
